Course Synopsis

Bidding is an integral part of generating business and destinations have many factors to consider when bidding for business events. This course is intended to provide step by step guidance on how to source, qualify and prioritize leads, and how to develop a stellar bid.

Content

Throughout the course you will explore:

  • How can your destination secure more business events in a pandemic and post-pandemic world?
  • What are some lead sources of business events that your destination can harness?
  • How do you prepare a winning bid proposal?

Learning format

The course provides approximately 90 minutes of learning via a combination of live, instructor presentations and interactive student engagement.

A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.

Target Audience

The course is designed primarily for middle to senior level managers of CVBs and DMOs, associations and destination suppliers.

Course Instructors

Bruce Redor

Bruce is an established business events professional with over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and service industry. Since he has been with GainingEdge, Bruce has been involved in numerous consulting engagements across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He is also a favored speaker in industry events across Europe. He led bid training programmes in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Paul Vallee

Paul has consulted for clients in Canada, the US, South America, Asia and Europe. He has more than 30 years’ experience including serving as the Managing Director for BestCities Global Alliance. Paul has been an invited speaker around the globe and was on faculty at Capilano University in international destination marketing. He chaired the 2010 Olympic bid marketing committee.

Mike Williams

Mike is a destination and convention and bureau specialist with 30 years’ experience in the industry. Since joining GainingEdge in 2007, he has been lead consultant in Australia, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Mike has facilitated numerous industry workshops and seminars across the globe with100+ sessions in the Asia-Pacific region. He led bid training programmes in ten+ cities around the world.
