Course Synopsis

The structure and funding of a convention bureau is fundamental to its efficient functioning. This course is intended to equip business event professionals with knowledge on ways to organize and finance operations.

Content

Throughout the course, you will explore:

  • The different types of bureaus and how they are set up 

  • Considerations for ways to evolve organisation structure 
  • Various funding sources for bureaus to aid in the promotion of business events

Learning format

The course provides approximately 90 minutes of learning via a combination of live, instructor presentations and interactive student engagement.

A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.

The course is designed primarily for middle to senior level managers of CVBs and DMOs and destination suppliers.

Bruce is an established business events professional with over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and service industry. Paul has been an invited speaker around the globe and was on faculty at Capilano University in international destination marketing. He led the brand refresh for the alliance in 2019.

Mike is a destination and convention and bureau specialist with 30 years’ experience in the industry.
